Swimming Team Falls to William Paterson; Men Set School Record in 200-Yard Freestyle Relay

The men's and women's swimming team lost a non-conference swim meet to William Paterson on Saturday afternoon in Wayne, New Jersey.  

The women lost, 97-77, the men, 97-82.  

The highlights for the women included Daniela Sepulveda (Middletown, N.Y./Goshen Central) winning the 1,000-yard freestyle event. She also finished second in the 50 and 500 yard freestyle in being touched out in both events.  

Irina Skripnik (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) won the one-meter diving competition.  

The top highlight for the men included the relay team of Brian Llido (Staten Island, N.Y./Farrell), Tony Zhang (College Point, N.Y./Bronx Science), Cory Ng (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bronx Science), and Michael Wursthorn (Middle Village, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) setting a school record in the 200-yard freestyle.  

Ng also finished first and Zhang second in the 100-yard flystroke.

The swim teams will return to action this Wednesday with a conference road meet against the College of Staten Island at 6:00 p.m.
